Please "sit" a spell and let us tell you who we are.

Grizzly Tracks Publishing was started by Dean Ormiston and Pilar Jimenez, and is dedicated to publishing material about the cowboy and western way of life. This way of life still exists in Baca County, Colorado where we are located, and is also found in many other places around the world - like Ecuador!

Grizzly Tracks publishes western stories, cowboy poetry and cards specifically illustrating western and cowboy life. The stories and cards cover many different subjects that illustrate our western heritage. Some of this material has been written by Dean, some by other cowboys from Baca County. Many of the stories and cards are humorous.

We will also publish other worthwhile books of both fiction and fact. We are not limited to just western and cowboy stories. In fact, we would like to see other authors have their material published. Thus we can make arrangements with an author to publish his or her work based upon a percentage of sales.

Now a bit about us. Dean was born in Baca County and has lived here his entire life, accept for the time he left for college. His grandfather first homesteaded in Baca County way back in 1912! His parents are still ranching in the area.

Yes, Dean is a cowboy and rancher – and still lives on the original homestead and raises cattle and horses. His ranch is 50 miles from Springfield - the closest town - where Grizzly Tracks is located. If you look for us on a map, you will see lots of wide-open spaces!

Dean’s partner Pilar was born in Ecuador, South America. She attended college in New York State, and worked in education for many years. She came out to Colorado to do a bit of riding, and fell in love with the place – which is mighty easy to do!

Thank you for sitting a spell. We hope you like our publications, and look forward to hearing from you.
